The Almuñécar Policía Local and fire service found the body of man in an apartment in Urbanización Abencerrajes, in the Marina del Este
The police were alerted by neighbours who had complained about a strong smell coming from the said flat.
Firemen forced the door and found the body which showed signs of being dead several days.
The dead man, aged 49, was from Pitres in the Alpujarras with the initials of J.D.S.E.
The body was taken to the Instituto Anatómico Forense to determine the cause of death.
