The Policía Nacional arrested three people aged between 19 and 20 for allegedly carrying out a burglary at the offices of an association for the handicapped in Granada.
The incident took place in the early hours of the 3rd of July when the Granada police station received a call from an off-duty policeman to say that he had come across two young men and a young woman ‘extracting’ household furniture from a building, passing it over a 2-metre high perimeter fence.
He shouted at them to stop what they were doing but they ran off… with two sofas. However, a police patrol car turned up almost immediately, thanks to his call, and the three culprits were apprehended now dragging the said sofas along the street, out of breath.
The sofas were returned to their rightful owners and the three “Pickford’s Olympics” competitors were charged and released.
