There was a mountain-brush fire in the Gualchos area (Barranco La Rijana) on Thursday the 18th, which was reported at 14.00h.

About 80 ground personnel (fire fighters and drivers), two large 4×4 fire trucks, one 6×6 water carrier, three airplanes and four helicopters, according to the official report, were used to bring the fire under control around six in the afternoon.

Infoca declared the fire extinguished at 09.00h the next day, but not before consuming 23 hectares of mountain shrub and brush.
