First reports speak of a mother in Recas, Toledo throwing her two small children out a window. She then threw herself out.
The woman, a Spaniard of Cuban origin, has a confrontational history with her neighbours and and fellow workers.
On the day of the incident, Monday the 20th, the woman had reportedly started berating and acting aggressively against her three children. Her eldest daughter escaped from the flat and ran to the Town Hall for help.
When the police arrived, the woman’s behaviour became even more erratic and violent: she took off her clothes and then threw her 10-year-old daughter out of the window, to the further astonishment of the police and the people gathered below.
Before the police could gain access to the flat, she threw her 18-month-old son, and then herself out of the same window.
All three were rushed to the Hospital Virgen de la Salud in Toledo, as a result of the 5-metre fall, according to the provincial daily, Tribuna de Toledo. all received head injuries but their condition is not serious.
The eldest daughter, who had alerted the authorities, has been taken into care.
