A Question of Priorities

A 36-year-old man, seriously wounded after receiving six stab wounds in a fight, preferred to go to a bar and have a few beers with friends, rather than go to hospital.

Fortunately for him, a friend finally decided to phone the emergency services, but not before a few rounds, of course.

An ambulance turned up at the bar and examined him, finding half a dozen stab wounds in his abdomen and chest, they patched him up as best as they could before taking him to hospital. We don’t know whether they stopped to have a beer as well before setting off with the patient.

The victim had got into a fight, but being half cut – in more senses than one – didn’t place too much importance on his injuries in his fuddled state, which is why he decided to go to the bar.
