Work has begun in La Herradura on Calle Balandro in the Rambla del Espinar area of the village: up comes the road surface, down go the pipes.

Local company Barbero Jiménez won the 56,146-euro contract to update the infrastructure on the said street – the first such work on it in 40 years!

Another street to receive this kind of attention in the same area is Calle Fragata, which will commence once the Calle Balandro work concludes.

“The age of the underground infrastructure and the lack of rain drainage on these two streets called for the something to be done,” said the First Councillor for La Herradura, Ruiz Joya.

The first infrastructure to be laid will be the new sewage pipes, 315mm PVC ones.

Anyway, Calle Balandro will be immersed in the said road works for three months.
