The Alpujarra Cancer March

ALP Cancer March OnLÓrgiva was the scene of the IV Marcha Solidaria, Caminando Contra el Cáncer, which, as the name implies, was a solidarity gesture towards cancer sufferers.

It is calculated that around 1,000 people from all over the province turned out to show their support for cancer suffers.

The event, organised by the Órgiva Town Hall and the local branch of the Asociacion Española contra el Cáncer, took place along the Centenary Olive Trees Route, which is a 6-kilometre long path/lane that passes around the southern end of the town, running parallel to the river.

Each participant contributed three euros to the cause through purchasing a event-participation card.
