The Policía Nacional nabbed a 44-year-old Salobreña man with 640 kilos of drugs in his van. The arrest took place in Motril.
The man had been transporting the drugs from Morocco to Almería when intercepted.
The interception was fruit of a tip-off that the drugs would be arriving on the Morocco-Almería ferry and once landed would be taken to ‘somewhere safe’ in the province of Granada.
Further investigation turned up what vehicle would be used and the interception was set up to take place in Motril.
Upon searching the van, the police found the stash under the false floor in the back of the van.
Shortly after the arrest, the police also arrested a 33-year-old woman from Barcelona, who had collaborated in the ‘arrangement.’
