A fight erupted outside a well-known supermarket on Avenida del Mediterraneo in Salobreña, which ended with one person receiving a blow to the head with an iron bar.

Several passersby reported the incident, which took place around 13.00h on the 3rd, but by the time the municipal police and the Guardia Civil arrived the aggressor had run off.

The victim was taken to the Motril hospital, Santa Ana to be treated and to ascertain the gravity of his injury; the doctor’s report will be used to decide whether the attack constitutes a misdemeanor or a felony.

In the meantime, the aggressor was located, identified and arrested before being released pending a judge’s decision on what procedure to follow.
