Two men were arrested in Villacarillo (Jaén) for cruelty and neglect of domestic animals, namely a greyhound in a lamentable state of starvation.

The animal was in such a bad state that it died from organ failure three days after being taken into care.

Apart from a lack of food, the bitch showed sores from having been tied up for extended amounts of time.

The two men, who use this breed of dog for hunting, also had seven other dogs confiscated, all of which lacked microchips and obligatory vaccinations.
