Kings’ Parade in Almuñécar and La Herradura

ALM 3 kings paradeThe Three Kings’ Parade or Cabalgata will set out from the municipal football stadium in Almuñécar at 17.00h, Monday the 5th.

Altogether around 100 people have been working on the event, which is eagerly awaited by thousands of kids, as they will be showering the crowds with 5,000 kilos of sweets and 2,000 toys, as well as 1,000 balls.

The Three Kings; Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar, are played by a local shopkeeper, a labourer and a member of the Senegalese Association.

The procession consists of no fewer than a dozen decorated floats bearing 14 different shows: gymnastics, dance, theatre and a spot of flamenco from Niño Carmelo and María la Canastera.

The route that it will take is: Calles Baracoa, Mariana Pineda, Avda. Rey Juan Carlos I, Carrera de la Concepción, Avda. Costa del Sol, Avenida de Europa, Cala, Carrera, Avda. Andalucía, Hurtado de Mendoza, Mariana Pineda, Tetuán and then back to the stadium.

Finally, fireworks will be set off to mark their departure from the stadium and arrival at the municipal market, amongst other points along the route.

The Kings in La Herradura
La Herradura will count on seven floats and a thousand kilos of sweets and toys.

The procession will set off at 17.00h, too, but from the Castillo de La Herradura, passing along Paseo Andrés Segovia, Prieto Moreno, Acera del Pilar, Paseo Andrés Segovia, Calle Alhambra and the Plaza de la Independencia.
