Almuñécar Plenary Meeting Held

ALM Plenary Meeting OnLThe Almuñécar Town Hall held an Extraordinary Plenary meeting of the council on Friday the 19th – it was a bit bumpy.

First off, all the opposition parties criticised the governing PP party for not having held an Ordinary Plenary Meeting in six months or an Extraordinary one in three, which clearly contravenes legal requisites that stipulate any town over 20,000 inhabitants must hold an Ordinary Plenary Meeting at least once a month.

The municipal Labour Rights Accord concerning public functionaries was scuppered by all the opposition parties as, in their words, it only covered policemen and firemen, and not all workers employed by the Town Hall.

The Spokesman for the governing party, Councillor Ruiz Joya, lamented this attitude, saying that Almuñécar would have had a functioning agreement, had the other parties not opposed it.

Other points on the agenda were either postponed or passed unanimously.
