Guardia Civil Killed in Bike Accident

NRJ Guardia Bike Accident OnLA Guardia Civil policeman, stationed in Nerja but resident of El Morche, died in the early hours of the 20th in a motorcycle accident.

The policeman, 47-year-old Jesús Villena Jiménez, had been out on his Yamaha 250 when for reasons unknown he lost control of the bike and collided with a metal barrier used to prevent stones from falling onto the road from the unstable hillside above. There were no skid marks.

The accident occurred around 03.00h just over the Torrox border from Nerja on the N-340 – you can see the atalaya (watchtower) in the background of the photo as a reference point.

His body was found later on in the morning by a cyclist. His wife had alerted his colleagues to his not arriving home that evening and they had gone out in search of him and still hadn’t located him when the call was received from the cyclist.
