Rubbish-Collection Bills Thrown Away

salobreña town hallThe Salobreña Policía Local found around 500 unpaid, rubbish-collection bills scattered over open ground near Playa Granada.

The discovery was made last weekend (25th/26th) but it wasn’t the only one made ,because when the police started searching around, they found even more bills amongst the wild sugarcane growing next to the beach road.

Once the Mayor of Salobreña heard of it, he reported the incident to the Provincial Council (the bills are issued by them) as well as the government agency for data protection, with the objective of finding out who is responsible and so that it doesn’t happen again.

Mayor Gonzalo Fernández Pulido pointed out that the people most affected by this are locals who obviously hadn’t received their bills and whose personal data was exposed in this fashion.

He also called upon the Provincial Council to reissue the bills without imposing a surcharge on them.
