The Sea Rescue Service transferred a sick crew member by helicopter from a merchant ship to Motril Hospital on Saturday the 20th.

The Coordination Centre in Almería had requested that the Policía Local in Motril collaborated in the emergency medical operation by activating the municipal heliport and the patient’s subsequent transfer to the hospital.

The merchant ship had been sailing in the Mar de Alborán area when it requested a medivac for one of its crew members. The details of his illness were not included in the press release.
