Our very own local table tennis champion, Lucía Lopez has been proclaimed champion of the ‘Most Promising Table tennis competitors’ in Linares for the second year running.

And we’re not just talking a simple victory, but an annihilation of her sorry rivals, winning all her games.

According to the President of the Table Tennis Club of Almuñécar, Rafael Marín Linares, only one of Lucía’s opponents came anywhere near her skill level, in an exciting final.

If last year’s performance is anything to go by, this 10-year old is destined for a frenetic calendar, heading across Spain to achieve victory and eventually reach a level where she takes part in the Andalusia heats.
