An ex-US Marine, resident of Nerja, launched a 50″, flat-screen TV from a 2nd floor window at two Guardia Civil policeman below. Why? Read on…
It was in the early hours of Sunday the 7th when the police had been called out to a domestic disturbance in the centre of Nerja, after receiving calls from anxious neighbours.
The policemen tried hammering on the door and calling up from the street for the couple to open the door and let them in.
Without warning the 33-year-old ex-Marine from Maryland, launched the TV from one of the balconies. Fortunately the policemen were able to dodge the falling object and not be converted into flat police by a flat-screen TV. It did clip one of them, who later went to the medical centre for treatment
The cause of the dispute? Some sources say that the couple had been quarreling over the woman’s pregnancy – she is expecting twins.
Anyway, the American was taken before a Justice of the Peace in Torrox, who issued a restraining order on the man, preventing him from approaching his partner or their home.
