Town Hall Counters Accusations Concerning Sea Cleaning

Almunecar skiff cleaning sea surfaceThe Almuñécar Town Hall was quick to counter the accusation that the skiffs used to clean floating rubbish from the sea were not in action this summer.

PSOE Councillor Censi Ruiz had made the accusation HERE.

According to the Councillor for the Environment, Luis Aragón, the skiffs had been out the whole of July and August and had removed around a tonne of floating rubbish from the offshore surface.

A total of three craft with six workers carried out the cleaning task from Playa Cantarriján to the beach on the Barranco Enmedio – that’s the one on the border with Salobreña, just passed Playa Currumbico.

Amongst the flotsam retrieved were pieces of plastic, sanitary towels, pieces of wood, drink cans and agricultural waste.

The Councillor finished by pointing out that the craft were out working from 10.00h to 14.00h and then from 15.30h to 19.00h every day.

Well, that’s that settled, then…
