If you drive up the Otívar mountain road (La Cabra), once you get to the top and level out, you can’t miss Mesón Los Prados.
It’s been there as long as I can remember, with changes of tenants, but now the owner of the establishment has decided to run it himself and do it right.
This very rustic meson now sports shallow ramps for people with mobility problems. Both dinning rooms, the larger and the smaller, have also been put back into use, with the smaller one dedicated to small events.
People who have gone there before, when it was under different management, probably found prices a bit steep – that is now history.
Furthermore, the owner, José, also has a large farm nearby where they raise deer and other livestock, so when they say that they have fresh meat products, they mean fresh.
One of their house specialities is venison, logically, but their menu also covers much more, such as grilled rabbit, so if you’re looking for country fayre in the heart of the country, then Mesón Los Prados is just the ticket.
Set almost in the wilds, there are plenty of places to explore to walk off that ejoyable meal, so drive up there, park your car and be prepared to spend a good part of the day around there.
Open everyday, you can book on 958 347 034 or 650 520 117 to book dishes prepared on the BBQ.
