Noisy Tutti-Frutti?

NRJ Tutti FruttiThe Nerja Town Hall has been cracking down on noisy night bars and their terraces, especially in the Plaza Tutti Frutti.

It seems that the Nerja Mayor has taken note on how the Vélez-Málaga Town Hall came to grief in 2008 when it was fined over 5m euros for not taking action against noisy nightclubs.

Accordingly, around 20 such establishments have received visits from the police in the El Chaparil area with several being closed down temporarily over the last five years.
Amongst those forced to close their doors recently is the biggest nightclub in town, which is on Calle Antonio Millón – and so it has remained since the 26th of April.

Neighbours had often called in to complain about the noise, so a reading was taken and it was found that it was over the limit. Not only was the establishment closed, but it is also looking at a 12,500-euro fine, apparently.

But according to the establishment owner, the reason for the excess noise it that they were forced to renew the aircon/ventilation system by the Town Hall, and lo, when a sound check was carried out after its expensive installation, the level of noise was found to be excessive.

According to the relevant councillor, however, the problem is not only the aircon/ventilation system but the sum of the music and the said system

So, they remain closed until until they change the whole aircon/ventilation system again, with all the work and costs involved. Then again, they could just turn the music down, no?
