Thieves rammed their way through a shop window and shutters using a stolen car. However, the robbery was thwarted by the security door and wall containing valuable items inside the premises.

The target of the two hooded men was the Phone House mobile-telephone shop next to Kelibia Vet‘s.

The two men waited until the take-away shop closed next door (06.00h) Easter Thursday before striking, smashing their way into the shop, using a stolen car from Almuñécar.

The two men ran straight across the shop to a reinforced storage cupboard where the prized, top-range, mobile phones are kept, Despite angry kicks and blows to the surrounding wall, the security arrangement did not yield, so they abandoned the raid.

The car turned up that same evening, 15 hours later, over 300 kilometres away in San Roque in the province of Cádiz.
