Back Lane to the Beach Repaired

SAL Patched road OnLThe Salobreña Town Hall has just finished sorting out the much-potholed Camino del Gambullón, thank God!

The Mayor, Gonzalo Fernández Pulido, moved fast after the opposition party, the PP, brought to light the discontent of locals over this secondary route to the beach, coming out next to Chiringuito El Peñon.

The Mayor explained that all of the back lane that connects La Caleta to Avenida del Mediterraneo, passing under the castle through the vega, was sorted out using funds from Plan Encamina2, however, the lane starting just below the castle at the Camino del Gambullón T-junction to El Peñon had not been included until now.

The said lane really belongs to the Junta de Compensación del TH1; i.e., on the land earmarked for hotel use and not, according to the Mayor, municipal property, thus not covered in the (Plan Encamina2) grant.

Whatever the case, it needed sorting out because driving along this narrow lane has always been a nightmare, thanks to the potholes.
