A 54-year-old man from Salobreña was unfortunate enough to slip and fall on the rocks between the Velilla water park and the sea.

The cause of the accident, which occurred around 11.45h on the 23rd, is still not known. However, an eyewitness apparently saw the man fall down the rocks into the sea, and immediately alerted the emergency services.

To date, it has not been disclosed whether the man banged his head, lost consciousness and drowned or whether the cause of death was the fall, rather than drowning.

The path around the back of the water park is not very frequented, although it is a most often used by dog walkers.
