The idea is to have it working perfectly for the summer, so this Easter will be a sort of test run to iron out teething problems.
The paid parking area will also include Avenida Mediterráneo from the Parque de la Fuenta to the parking area near the beach. All told there will be 765 blue-zone, parking spaces
There will be a general charge of 60 cents per hour and three euros to park five hours – long enough to enjoy the beach without rushing off to top up the meter.
There will also be monthly rates for residents, costing 30 euros
The Mayor pointed out that the parallel avenue behind the beach road will remain a free parking area.
Once summer is here, the blue zones will be up and running from the 22nd of June until the 15th of September, Monday to Sunday from 10.00h to 21.00h.
