Readers may be aware that 2013 marked 200 years since the birth of great Italian composer Giiuseppe Verdi.

We are very proud to announce that after a hugely successful Christmas concert, the Chamber Choir of the Juventudes Musicales de Almuñécar will again team up with Granada’s choir, Polifonia Ars XXI, this Saturday 18th January from 8pm in the Casa de la Cultura to celebrate the inimitable works of Verdi.

Amongst these, you will recognise arias from the operas La Traviata, Nabucco and Il Trovatore, to mention just a few. And it’s not just the choirs that you will enjoy, but also the great talent of our very own local pianist Juan José Muñoz Cañivano, together with three international soloists who have been touring Spain on this special anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi, as part of the Viva Verdi production.
