The mountain-rescue team, Sereim, aided by a police helicopter, rescued a biker from the bottom of a barranco above Otivar.
Other bikers who had been accompanying the man – of foreign nationality – phoned 112 when he disappeared over the side of the road, ending up ten metres below.
The Guardia rescue team were joined by local firemen, an ambulance crew and a unit from the forest-fire fighting body, Infoca.
The biker, who had damaged his spine, was transferred to the Santa Ana hospital in Motril in the police chopper.
