A budding political career bit the dust in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz) and the executioner was ‘orange juice.’
Regina Arocha, a member of the local branch of the PP, had the task of organising ‘breakfast,’ i.e., political meetings with the press over breakfast. This cosy press call had been called to cover how the local PP had collected 100 kilos of food for the local food bank.
Hot coffee, buns and orange juice was offered to the gathered journalists, which was gratefully accepted. However, it later turned out that the three litres of orange juice came from the food bank…
Very embarrassing. So embarrassing, in fact, that Regina resigned, despite the regional head of the PP, Antonio Sanza, explaining that it was a lamentable mix up.
