Another Paragliding Accident

LHR paragliding accident OnLA flyer, caught out by a sudden gust of wind, fell six metres into the Punta de la Mona around the end of last month.

The accident occurred about 15.00h on the Calle Las Gemelas, not far from the launching site for fans of this sport.

According to witnesses he was hit by a crosswind just after taking off and lost control of the apparatus. The point of impact was a flight of garden steps, so in effect, he fell down the steps as well as out of the sky – pretty unlucky.

Anyway, that’s where the fire service found him. Although he didn’t appear badly injured nor had lost consciousness, he was taken to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril as he complained of a strong headache.

Naturally, we won’t mention his nationality, nor whether he had come out of the sun…
