A mâitre at a Nerja hotel has been arrested for allegedly abusing a young cleaning woman in the gent’s toilets. This incident reportedly occurred on the 25th of August at the Hotel Marinas in Nerja.
According to the 30-year-old woman, he had ordered her to clean the toilets, and moments after she entered to carry out the task he allegedly cornered her in one of the cubicles. She says that he tried to kiss her after bolting the door, but she managed to push away his illicit attentions.
At this point, 39-year old, M.A.P.G. allegedly grabbed her by the arm, pulling her towards him, kissing her on the neck. She says that she again demanded that he let her go. Some minutes later, the accused left the cubicle complaining that she had left him in an “unsatisfied state of arousal.”
She waited ten minutes and then left the hotel because her shift had finished.
She did not report the incident to the police at the time, but she did tell one of her females bosses, who recommended that she reported him to the hotel management. She did and they asked her for a written account, which she handed in two days later.
Once the management had it in their possession they summoned the mâitre and confronted him with it. He responded by saying that he would be putting the affair into the hands of his lawyer, as the accusation was false, he claimed.
At this point the alleged victim found enough courage to report what had happened to the Guardia Civil. They immediately sent a patrol car to request that the hotel handed over the recordings from its security cameras – there is one in the corridor where the entrance to the toilets is.
The footage appears to support the victims account of the sequence of events; she enters followed shortly by him and then his leaving and finally her doing the same, all within the time estimations given by the woman.
He was arrested and appeared before a magistrate in the Torrox law court, who issued a court order forbidding him to approach within 500 metres of her whilst further investigations continue.
It appears that the man was fired no sooner than he was arrested.
