Rio Chillar Rescue

Volunteers from Protección Civil came to the assistance of a woman who had injured her leg whilst with a group of 50 excursionists in Río Chillar.

She was located near the Salto Grande part of the riverbed and taken to the Nerja medical centre, where they advised her to report to the Hospital Comarcal de la Axarquía. Initially, she said that she would prefer to be taken to the excursion bus and report to her local hospital in Córdoba.

Finally, they did managed to convince her to go to the local area hospital in Torre del Mar, where she would be picked up by the said bus once she had been seen there if she did not require being hospitalized.

Unfortunately, we don’t know whether she was kept there or continued on her way. The moral of the story is don’t play football with large, slippery, riverbed boulders.
