Old Town Square Renovated

Perhaps because of the repeated accusations from the main opposition party, the Town Hall has spruced up the Plaza Martín Recuerda, up in the Almuñécar old town.

Whatever the motivation, the local residents are more than happy with the results, which include changing the paving stones, which had been in a bad state, as well as providing benches and other ‘street furniture,’ as the Spanish say.

The whole thing was finished off with an impressive lick of paint, after eliminating the abandoned flower planters, which hadn’t been used in years, except by dogs and smokers.
