The Councillor for Infrastructure, Antonio García, announced that work on the Burriana, underground car park has already begun.

The first task is clearing the undergrowth and the widening of the plot. Another initial task is the rerouting of a rain drain so that it won’t causes problems during the excavation and building period.

The Councillor assured, however, that during the summer no other work would take place that could disrupt the summer tourist trade. Furthermore, although the plot will be closed to the public for safety reasons whilst work is going on, the area could well be used for extra summer parking once the aforementioned tasks are concluded.

Readers will recall that Sardalla Española, S.A. and Sondeos, Inyecciones & Trabajos Especiales, S.A. won the bid for the underground car-park project for Burriana, which has a budget of 2.5m euros, including IVA. The car park, once finished, will have 200 parking spaces.
