If you’re interested in taking a pottery course, then you have until the 7th of May to put your name down for one, at Almuñécar’s pottery school.
The Curso de Cerámica, which is at the Alfarería Municipal, located in the old town, will cover the history of pottery, the potter’s wheel, and glazing, amongst other subjects, says the Master Potter, Amalia García.
All those interested can either go around to the pottery school in Calle San Crescencio, 10, or they can visit the Services Office in Barrio San Miguel. The price of the course is 30 euros and begins on the 8th of May with afternoon classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The number of pupils is limited to six so it will be first come; first served.
Amalia García del Moral, who has been at the municipal potters school since 2009, opens the installations to the general public during the mornings from 10.00h to 13.00h, to have a look around, or even buy some of the items produced there.
