Alessandro Benedettelli will play at the Civic Centre in la Herradura on the 10th of May as part of the Serie de Maestros de la Guitarra 2013. The concert will commence at 20.30h with a 9-euros entrance fee.
Biography: Alessandro played his first recital at the age of 14. He has been an exceptional student and graduated cum laude in 2004 from the Pietro Mascagni Institute of Livorno. In 2007 he achieved the Degree in Discipline Musicali at the Conservatory of music of Vicenza with full marks in the class of M° Stefano Grondona.
He participated in several important Classical guitar competitions where he won several prizes, amongst which the Leo Brouwer Prize at the XXIII Certamen Andrés Segovia in La Herradura (Granada, Spain) in 2007 for the Best Interpretation of the contemporary piece Cromatico, written by Jorge M. Gonzalez.
Being a very versatile guitarist, Alessandro plays in duos with clarinet and violin, and Argentinian tango in a trio Milonga Clandestina, and is part of a Brazilian music trio Olodum Bahia. He also plays electric guitar in the Blue Note Orchestra (a symphonic-rock orchestra), for which he writes the original musical arrangements. In 2008 he started writing film music arrangements together with his brother Danieli.
He will play a mostly classical repertoire with pieces from Mertz, Giuliani, Fernanado Sor, M. Llobet, Castel Nuovo Tedesco, J. Gonzalez.
