Ex-Drugs Squad officer Lars S.M. and Manuel A.N. were also helped by the wife of the latter, Violeta S.G., who was sentenced to 6.5 years in jail. Finally, the wife of the former, María Teresa M.S. received a 2.5-year sentence in her part of the money laundering side of the ‘operation.’

The judge’s findings explained that Lars S.M. took advantage of his post within the drug-squad  to obtain the key to the confiscated-drug deposit and from 2006 used Manuel A.N. to elaborate ‘replacement packages,’ containing building plaster, talcum powder, sugar and even chocolate powder.

In this fashion the gang obtained 84 kilos of cocaine and 54 kilos of heroine; a total haul of 138 kilos, with a street price of 2,743.400 euros.
