According to Sra Abarca the paseo hasn’t had any work done on it since it was built 30 years ago. Consequently, the stone benches were cracked and had deteriorated in general, hence their being replaced with 14 new ones of a more modern design.
In case you’re wondering, the new seafront benches and the work to instal them is costing 4,000 euros, entirely out of local funds.
The First Councillor also pointed out that with Semana Santa just around the corner, the beaches for El Llano are ready for the influx of visitors – 1,600 flower pots containing geraniums and daisies have been distributed around the main entry points.
