The Almuñécar Town Hall has amended the regulations for parking in Blue Zone areas, taking advantage of the fact that the lease is about to be renewed.
Councillor for Traffic and Citizen Safety, Juan José Ruiz Joya, emphasized that they are honouring one of their election pledges; i.e., reducing Blue Zone areas and hours. He said that they had consulted with shop owners and residents in general.
“We will be proposing before the next Plenary Meeting of the Town Council that the hours should be fixed from 09.00h to 14.00h. Furthermore there will be a 15-minute charge of 20 cents so that the rotation (user turn over) will be greater,” he explained.
Another change will be that the Tarjeta de Residente and people who work in streets with Blue Zone parking will be charged 50 euros a year instead of the present 185-euro fee.
Another point that will be discussed at the Plenary Meeting will be an extension of the existing underground parking facility under the La Herradura sports pavilion.
