4X4 Almuñécar

Almuñécar held its Extreme Indoor 4×4 Ciudad de Almuñécar in the Municipal Sport stadium, with Manuel Gómez in his Range Rover V8 taking the First Prize and the Second Prize going to Ramón Torres, driving a Wrangler Jeep.

In the Prototypes Category Daniel Rodríguez won the first slot in his Suzuki Samurai with a Volkswagen 1900cc and not a rubber-band engine that Martin’s got in his one. Manuel Muñoz in his Jeep Protomog armed with a Corvette 400-CV engine came in second.

The 4-hour event enjoyed a spectator turnout of around 1,500 spectators, who witnessed 27 vehicles slogging it out on a circuit full of ramps, trenches and other nasty obstacles. Two of the drivers were local lads, by the way. The other competitors came from Priego de Córdoba, Martos, Linares, Torrox Costa, Alhaurín de la Torre, Estepona, Roquetas, la Línea de la Concepción, Torre del Mar and Granada.

The event had been organised by Club Coyote 4×4 Almuñécar, with the collaboration of the Municipal Board for Sports.
