Tarmacking and Verge Clearing

The Almuñécar Town Hall has been busy tidying up the verges of the municipality’s country lanes, cutting back the grass along the access lane for Pago de Guerra, just above La Herradura, leading from the N-340 junction (Cañada Real or Quemado) all the way up to the Cortijo Rafael Cabrera.

Admittedly, seeing as we are way into August, it is a little tardy as far as fire-risk prevention goes – it would have been more logical in late May early June, but better late than never, right? Anyway, we’re talking about seven kilometres of track, and if there is time, they are even contemplating taking in the track to the old rubbish dump from the Cruce de Cortijo López.

Meanwhile, over in the Río Jate and El Cerval area there is cause for rejoicing because the tarmacking process finally concluded on Thursday the 9th. Councillor Ruiz Joya explained that the work had been delayed for a month owing to internal problems within the construction company.
