Just about everyone that we have spoken to has considered that Almuñécar’s Jazz Night Shopping was a great success, so much so that a new date is already being set.
One shop owner in Calle Real said that she had sold more in just that one night than in the last month.
The Councillor for Commerce, José Manuel Fernández, said, “It has been a magnificent initiative by shopkeepers, which we have completely supported and will continue to do so, because it could turn into an important stimulus to help us over these difficult times.”
The Councillor, who is on crutches at the moment, hobbled through the Town Hall Square and down the main shopping street and could not but help exclaim, “It’s marvelous to see the shops full of customers – it should be like this more often.”
The sights are now set on next month to bring about a repeat performance, together with other new ideas.
