The Policia Nacional had to intervene to prevent a couple from beating the living daylights out of each other… and all this before the eyes of the new girlfriend of the man. The police, after arresting them, took them round to the hospital to get patched up.

The police had been called to a flat by the second woman, who let them in so that they could separate the man and his ex-girlfriend. The problem appears to have been an ‘informative lapse,’ as the man had forgotten to tell his ex that she was now officially an ‘ex’ and that the new-girlfriend was not a ‘bit on the side.’

The ex, expressing time-honoured, feminine comprehension, attacked him with a metal candle holder and a ham knife and the man, expressing equally time-honoured tact, dragged her around the flat a couple of times by her hair… all in front of his new girlfriend, who no doubt has had second thoughts about her present amorous arrangement.
