Towards the end of February there was a road accident involving a school mini-bus and a car in Cantoria (Almería), leaving 13 minors, between the ages of 13 and 17 and three adults injured. The majority of those involved were British.

The head-on crash, the cause of which is thought to have been the fault of the mini-bus driver, left two minors and an adult in ICU, although their lives are not thought to be in danger.

The incident occurred at 14,40 as the mini-bus was taking the pupils home from the Valle del Almanzora high school.

IES Valle del Almanzora had been in the news at the beginning of February after the pupils and teaching staff turned out in protest over heating in the school, which hasn’t been working for five years.
