The Town Council has approved the project for rural-lane improvements: El Gambullón and La Melcochera with the Plan Encamina2 grant from the Junta de Andalucía.

A total of 3,000 metres of the lane surface  will be tarmacked, using a budget of 235,000 euros and with an estimated timescale of two and four months, respectively. First of all, mind you, the contract has to be put out to tender.

These two lanes are main arteries linking La Caleta, La Guardia and Lobres with Salobreña, pointed out the Mayor, Gonzalo Fernández Pulido, as much as for serving agricultural needs as well as communication between municipal dependencies.

El Plan Encamina2, which belongs to the Agencia de Gestión Agraria y Pesquera de la Junta de Andalucía, has a total budget of 118 million euros and is destined for rural communications for arable and livestock farmers, over 5,000 kilometres of rural lanes… or in other words, almost the equivalent of from Granada to the Danish border and back!
