Gunter V.F. from Germany and former resident of Taramay, Almuñécar, received an 18-year prison sentence for the murder of his 86-year-old Belgian boss, on whose property he lived. Apart from the incarceration, he will also have to pay 90,000 euros to his victim’s widow and cover all the court costs of of the trial.
The 61-year-old German had been given permission by Henri D.G. to install a caravan on the patio of his house and reside there, as he was his employee, working on what was then the Taramay campsite, El Pozuelo. This campsite was later turned into the Taramay park when the land came into public ownership.
On the 2nd of February the Jury at the provincial criminal court of Granada found Gunter V.F. guilty of having beaten the elderly man to death with an iron bar, the judge has only just decided on the sentence.
Gunter V.F. worked for 16 years for his victim at the campsite but lacked the funds to rent accommodation, which is why he was given permission to live in the grounds of his bosses Taramay house.
Although the man was found guilty, he still has the option to appeal before the Tribunal Superior de Andalucia.
