The now empty supermarket, which was the old Hiper, but was occupied by Eroski until it closed down, was put into use again to host the IV Feria de los Tropicales. The venue was packed with machinery, fruit, plants and wines from local producers… as well as, visitors, of course.

A total of 20 hotelier and restaurant businesses participated in the dessert & cocktail competitions, as well as fruit farmers etc from Jete, Otivar and Lentegi.

On a charitable note, the proceeds from the bar, as well as from the sale of Christmas pastry treats was handed over to Caritas, which is a Catholic-Church-run charity.

The cocktail competition, by the way, was won by Bar Arena (Sam Duggan), which is located where the old Dallas bar was, below the Paseo del Altillo. The prize was a cruise – lucky bugger, but deserved!
