Don’t forget that up in ‘Megaville’ Lobres they will be celebrating their annual fiestas from Saturday the 10th until Monday the 13th in honour of San Antonio – Tony, to his mates.
Mind you, Monday doesn’t have anything happening, except for a Mass at 8pm – best not to attend that one if you are expecting a pint and a punch-up.
But every evening there will be a ‘knees up’ starting at 23.30, which will carry on until the early hours of the morning. On Sunday there will be a kiddies’ party at 17.00, with a ribbon chase, sack race, quad racing, and even a bucking, rodeo machine. All these activities will be taking place in the Casa de la Cultura.
For the energetically challenged there are several activities, such as bowls, dominoes and rentoy (card game). Then, on the stroke of midnight there will be a grand-finale firework display. There are other things going on, but you would be an incurable optimist if you thought that I was going to sit here and type them all out – go and have a look for yourself!
