The 8th of last month saw the II Gran Premio de Fondo (cross country) being held in the town.

The race, which attracted a good spectator turn-out to match the enthusiasm of the runners, passed through the town centre and down to the beach, down to the end and then back along the return road – a 5-kilometre run.
