I read with interest Ducan Inglis’s comments on the Spanish economy, it got me wondering if things would be better if working guiris paid their way; very few working expats work legally, not paying social security, income tax and avoiding paying IVA.
You really can’t moan about the state of things in Spain if you are robbing the system.

Hey come on.
As a Punta de la Mona resident I know as well as Bart that IVA is a purely voluntary tax for Spaniards or any other nationality. Check your local builders or shops.
Pay Cash = nil IVA
Pay Credit or Debit Card = full IVA
