Eight out of every ten pupils in Motril fail their end-of term-exams. A study carried out by the Asociaciones de Padres y Madres de Alumnos found that only 16% of pupils pass these exams, which means that things are just as grim as the 2008/2009 school year.
And we’re not just talking about the dreaded ESO (Educación Secundaria Obligatoria), but also Bachillerato and Formación Profesional (6th-grade and politechnical college).
The only thing on the rise is the growing ranks of pupils that “Have no interest, do not work, miss classes or abandon school altogether,” reads the report.
Finally and to put it another way, of the 2,877 ESO students, only 467 passed all their school subjects whilst almost the same number (453) failed nine or more of their subjects.
