ICS New President

Here’s even more news from the International Club. After three years as President, Arlene Nichols has stepped down. Under her leadership, the membership has tripled, from about 50 members to approximately 150, and the range of activities arranged by the Club has seen an immense expansion.
I have to say this, of course. If I do not, the consequences are potentially disastrous. Anyway, I think it’s fair to say that Arlene leaves the Presidency with a sense of great achievement. Also known as, ‘Management’ a.k.a. “She Who Must Be Obeyed” in our house, Arlene has made a terrific contribution to the International Community. Not that I’m biased or anything. Or that anybody tells me what to write.
Personally, one just has to wonder how one can now find some peace and quiet on Wednesdays. It’s all very well for all of you out there, but now I have to suffer herself (a.k.a. S.W.M.B. O.) having nothing to do of a Wednesday! Which will undoubtedly involve your humble scribe being made actually to do something! As my French friends would say, “Merde, alors.”
The new President, Mike Warrington, will develop his own programs, and can be reached on:- 689-634-899 for questions or comments. He and his new team of officers have spent a great deal of time in planning a new year of activities. Make sure you don’t miss out on any of them. A new idea they have is that of ‘Helping Hands’ – which takes the experience of those of us who have lived here for a while to help newer arrivals. Sounds like a terrific idea to me.
